
Chamber Groups
Participants are matched in trios, quartets, or quintets according to age and experience level. These groups give participants the opportunity to work closely with their coaches and to get to know their peers.



Fall 2025 Dates

Rehearsal Dates: 10 Saturdays, 3:15 - 4:30 pm
September 13, 20, 27
October 4, 11, 18, 25
November 1 (Master Class), 8
November 15 - Performance 3:30 pm
Absence Policy: No more than 1 excused absence is acceptable per session which cannot include the master class or the performance, and must be known way in advance. Illness will be excused but this needs to be communicated as soon as possible in advance of the specific rehearsal.
PLEASE REALIZE you will be the only one playing your part so it is essential that you commit to being a member of the team and attending all rehearsals that you possibly can.
Tuition: $800 for the semester (fall 2025)
Requirements
Prerequisites include:
Minimum two years of private lessons, preferably more, or equivalent experience, and currently taking lessons
Some experience playing in an orchestra or other group
Proficiency in keys up to 3 sharps and flats
Ability to play various articulations (e.g. legato, staccato)
Accurate rhythm and intonation
Note and rhythm READING skills are essential
Strings: Proficiency in 3rd position for violin and viola, 4th for cello; acquaintance with higher positions recommended
Strings: Vibrato highly recommended
Woodwinds: Ability to play the full range of the instrument (excluding the extended high range)
Pianists: Ability to play both hands together, with chords (2 or 3 note) or melodies in either hand
It is highly recommended but not required to participate in Allegro Ensemble as well as the chamber music program during the fall and spring sessions. The discount for doing both is $100, so fall 2025 total for both is $1000.
